Description

The Boulder Mountain Zendo, founded by Diane Musho Hamilton Sensei and Michael Mugaku Zimmerman Sensei, is a center for Zen study and practice. They are both Dharma successors of Soten Genpo Roshi, whose teacher was Taezan Maezumi Roshi. Zen practice is a fundamental commitment to experiencing reality as it is – beautiful, ungraspable and seamless, nothing other than your own life. Their desire is to alleviate suffering, to burst the illusion of separateness and isolation endemic to human experience.

Retreats take place in a traditional Zen sesshin structure with intensive zazen, dharma talks, and interviews with the teacher. The Boulder Mountain Zendo employs innovative remote teaching methods, including tele-courses, virtual temple days, and on-line koan study. The program of study and practice is designed to appeal to a broad audience, to those in the mainstream, including householders who raise children, hold jobs, and seek liberation within that life plan.
