Description
The Boulder Mountain Zendo, founded by Diane Musho Hamilton Sensei and Michael Mugaku Zimmerman Sensei, is a center for Zen study and practice. They are both Dharma successors of Soten Genpo Roshi, whose teacher was Taezan Maezumi Roshi. Zen practice is a fundamental commitment to experiencing reality as it is – beautiful, ungraspable and seamless, nothing other than your own life. Their desire is to alleviate suffering, to burst the illusion of separateness and isolation endemic to human experience.Retreats take place in a traditional Zen sesshin structure with intensive zazen, dharma talks, and interviews with the teacher. The Boulder Mountain Zendo employs innovative remote teaching methods, including tele-courses, virtual temple days, and on-line koan study. The program of study and practice is designed to appeal to a broad audience, to those in the mainstream, including householders who raise children, hold jobs, and seek liberation within that life plan.
