Description of Organization
Braided Wisdom braids indigenous wisdom, earth-based practices, and psycho-spiritual approaches to healing the whole self while preserving the integrity of the unique cultures as they journey along a spiritual path. These practices are interwoven and shared across different approaches through leadership training, community healing circles, earth-based ceremonies and land retreats, and shapeshifting workshops with restorative justice leaders. Braided Wisdom’s cross-cultural mindfulness programs are open to all; Black, Indigenous and People of Color, dedicated to unifying all aspects of ourselves and honoring the richness through community engagement.
In 2022, a grant in the amount of $18,000 was awarded to support the Braided Wisdom Cross-Cultural Mindfulness Leadership Training Program (BWCCMLTP), a 14-month program that empowers participants to discover and braid the way of their own spiritual paths. Trainees will be required to complete introductory cross-cultural mindfulness sessions occurring throughout 2023 prior to beginning the 14-month program in January 2024. The curriculum is designed to heal, empower, and inspire individuals to unify all aspects of themselves to better improve their lives and enhance communities. Upon completion of the program, participants will be qualified to seek credentialing as an International Mindfulness Teachers Association – Certified Mindfulness Teacher – Professional level.
