With its personal learning environment and supportive community, CIIS provides an extraordinary education for people committed to transforming themselves and the world.
In 2012, a grant in the amount of $2,500 was awarded to California Institute of Integral Studies to fund scholarships for the CIIS Mindfulness and Compassion in Psychotherapy Certificate Program. This year-long program features leaders in the research, practice, and applications of the Buddhist practices of mindfulness and compassion to the field of psychotherapy. The program had a unique emphasis on development of the internal state of the psychotherapist to address the deeper issue of how a psychotherapist can utilize her or his own compassion and mindfulness to inspire clients and to create a healing relationship that encourages psychic unfolding at its most essential levels, the program’s target group of early-career and community-based therapists.
