Description of Organization
The Dallas Meditation Center (DMC) is an educational nonprofit that aims to create a healthier and happier North Texas, one person at a time. When an individual utilizes mindfulness practice to become less stressed and more balanced in their own lives, it creates space for them to discover joy, compassion, and kindness. DMC is dedicated to offering accessible Buddhist teachings which empower individuals to cultivate inner peace, gain insight, and foster compassion and empathy through the joy of mindful living. In our center, participants experience a safe, welcoming, and creative community to learn about and engage in the practice of daily mindfulness in an inclusive, non-religious, and accessible environment. This education includes mindfulness tools and practices, discussions of dharma topics, and opportunities for heart-to-heart connection with other attendees.
At the core of their mission, their work helps people discover their own inner happiness and spread that compassion throughout the community.
Grant(s) Awarded
In 2026, a grant of $6,500 was awarded for general operating support to strengthen their programs offering inclusive, accessible, and easily-applied mindfulness and meditation practices for all in the Dallas area, regardless of faith, cultural background, identity, or financial status, faith.
