Description of Organization
Delta Beta Tau was founded to create a peaceful refuge for college students and young adults, rooted in compassion, moral living, and personal growth. With an emphasis on meditation and Buddhist principles, our mission is to cultivate inner wisdom and promote positive change—beginning with ourselves and extending to the broader community.
Their vision is to strengthen the understanding and practice of meditation through guest speakers, informal discussions, retreats, and volunteer service. They believe that through consistent community engagement and mindfulness practices, students can find stability, clarity, and a sense of purpose in today’s fast-paced world.
The Alpha Chapter was established at San Diego State University, serving as the foundation for our national expansion efforts. They aim to launch new chapters across the United States to make our programs more accessible to college students nationwide.
Grant(s) Awarded
In 2026, a grant of $4,700 was awarded to support meditation and retreats for college students and young adults. It will support their efforts to provide quality programming, including retreats, workshops, speaker events, and community outreach. The funds will be used for retreat logistics, transportation, guest honorariums, and materials needed for meditation and educational activities. With this support, Delta Beta Tau will continue to nurture mindful, compassionate leaders who are empowered to create positive change within themselves and their communities.
