Awakened Leadership Conference: Mindfulness in Business and at Work

For businesses seeking more success, the Lenz Foundation in collaboration with NYU’s Department of Global Spiritual Life/Stern School of Business presented the groundbreaking Awakened Leadership: Mindfulness in Business and At Work conference, June 1-3, 2016 in Los Angeles on the Loyola Marymount campus near LAX.
In this two-and-a-half day conference, participants learned how to introduce mindfulness into their workplace and increase the bottom line. Topics included coverage of research and clinical trials that have conclusively proved the value of mindfulness in reducing stress and increasing well-being such as:
- Cognitive function and flexibility (concentration, memory and learning)activity and ability to be self-aware and to self-manage
- Productivity
- Employer/employee and client relationships
- Job satisfaction
- Reduced costs of staff absenteeism and turnover

The Lenz Foundation made collaboration grants to jump start social impact programs that grantees and business/community leaders developed out of their work together. The conference also devoted a half day to improving its grantees’ own mindful best business practices.
