Description of Organization
The Mission at Greatwoods Zen Sangha is to provide Buddhist teachings, lived practice experiences, and communal gatherings that empower individuals and families to cultivate resilient presence, playful creativity, and compassionate connection. Through their accessible retreats, days of mindfulness, and community-building activities, we foster an environment where people can heal, grow, and weave mindfulness into the rhythms of their daily lives. By supporting one another, we strengthen our collective well-being and help create a world where joy, compassion, and belonging can flourish.
Grant(s) Awarded
In 2026, a grant of $6,300 was awarded to help their small, grassroots Sangha grow into a thriving Buddhist center serving greater Charlotte. This vital funding will enable them to pioneer creative programs such as art-based mindfulness, mindful relating, and the art of community building, while making our retreats financially accessible to anyone who wishes to explore a more mindful and peaceful life rooted in joyful community and spiritual friendship.
