Description of Organization
At Hebrew College, pluralism is their lens. This perspective encourages their students to ask questions and have authentic and sometimes difficult conversations—with themselves and one another—about how to live, learn and pray; about what unites us and what divides us. In the process, they learn to listen, not to judge. They learn to engage, to think deeply and creatively, to find their own Jewish practices; and to serve and participate in the diverse, ever-changing Jewish communities throughout our country and around the world.
Grant(s) Awarded
In 2026, a grant of $3,300 was awarded to support The Ikvotecha Program in Spiritual Direction, a transformative initiative embedded in their rabbinical school curriculum. Rooted in the belief that a rabbi must nurture their own inner life in order to nurture others, the Ikvotecha “In Your Footsteps” Program in Spiritual Direction equips rabbinical students and rabbis ordained from Hebrew College with spiritual practices and opportunities for deep personal reflection that sustain lifelong service and leadership: to walk more consciously, humbly, and courageously in alignment with one’s values, purpose, and sense of the sacred.
