Description of Organization

Kagyu Changchub Chuling supports practitioners in their process of spiritual awakening and ensures that the teachings of the Shangpa and Karma Kagyu lineages are sustained for the benefit of future generations. Vision: KCC published a strategic plan in 2024 with four primary pillars:
*Develop and implement a curriculum of study and practice to provide a clear path of progression for new and longtime practitioners at all stages of practice.
*Foster a welcoming and inclusive community where a strong culture of volunteerism strengthens the community and the practitioner.
*Increase utilization of KCC’s retreat center (SCOL) through programming and opening the retreat center to other spiritual groups. Create opportunities for community members to build a connection to this precious resource and continue environmental stewardship of the land.
*Develop and implement a holistic financial sustainability model to sustain staff and preserve KCC’s infrastructure for today’s and tomorrow’s dharma practitioners.

Grant(s) Awarded

In 2026, a grant of $3,800 was awarded to establish a Visiting Teacher in Residence Program. KCC will host a qualified Dharma teacher for three months to offer teachings, meditation guidance, classes, and individual support. Their primary focus is on women teachers with deep training to amplify female voices in Buddhism. This residency will benefit both their sangha and the teacher’s development, fostering diversity, spiritual growth, and inspiration for Dharma practice.
