Description of Organization
The aim of the Artist and Buddhist Contemplatives Project is to
- explore the connections between art and contemplative Buddhist practice,
- provide diverse resources for artists with a strong Buddhist contemplative practice,
- create opportunities for these artists to gather and explore the topics together, and in this way build community among them, and
- To open an inquiry into the relationship between art and Buddhist Practice to anyone interested in the topic, providing a source of inspiration and learning for artists today, those to come and the public.

In 2015, a grant in the amount of $2,500 was awarded to support Artist and Buddhist Contemplatives Project with a gathering on October 19-‐21, 2015, Meredith Monk, considered one of the most significant creative forces in the performing arts of the past fifty years and a MacArthur “genius” grant winner, offered to present.
