We are happy to share more about our Youth in the Dharma grant theme, the upcoming Women Leaders in Buddhism gathering featuring Roshi Joan Halifax, the Circle Network, and more.
We’re pleased to announce that the 2027 grant application with the theme of Youth in the Dharma is now available on our website. For 2027, we are requesting that grant applicants create a program (if not already in place) that will engage young people in Buddhist teachings including meditation and mindfulness, and foster a path to leadership.
We are excited to announce many wonderful things starting or ongoing in the month of April.

Reminder! The deadline for grant 2026 submission is September 30, 2025. As we explain on our Grant Policy page, there is no single theme for 2026 grants. We look forward to supporting a range of innovative and impactful programs. Foundation grants for 2026 will range from $2,500 – $12,500.
We’re excited about the upcoming grant-making season for 2026, dedicated to nurturing innovative ideas that foster the growth of American Buddhism. This year, we return to a general call for proposals, open to diverse and impactful projects aligned with our mission of building American Buddhism.

In the first half of 2024, we distributed funding for almost all of the 60 grant proposals we accepted for our Women Leaders in Buddhism theme. To cover the Women in Buddhism grants, we used up two years of grant funding ($760k). All of the accepted grants are now listed on our website.
