Description of Organization
The purpose of the Seattle Shambhala Center is to provide a place where people can awaken to their inherent goodness and promote the development of an enlightened society. We do this through practicing meditation, learning about Shambhala Buddhism, and engaging in community.
Grant(s) Awarded
In 2026, a grant of $5,300 was awarded to create two death care toolkits—one Buddhist, one secular—offering practical guidance on end-of-life planning, dying, after-death care, and grief. A dedicated website will host the toolkits, training programs, and mentor support, enabling communities to integrate death care education broadly. By restoring lost knowledge, the project empowers people to support one another with dignity and compassion, reducing fear and isolation while fostering resilience and mutual care at life’s end.
