Description of Organization

The Zen Center aims to support and nurture The Three Treasures: Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. They seek to remain a registered Soto Zen Temple and a Buddhist community center far into the future, in order to provide a home for lay practice, priest training, the welcoming of newcomers to Buddhism, and the regular practice of zazen. In this way we will provide for the Transmission of the Buddha’s teachings and preserve the practice and study of Soto Zen Buddhism.

Grant(s) Awarded

In 2026, a grant of $2,300 was awarded to support ZCP’s Visiting Teacher Series. This program hosts Buddhist teachers on their peaceful rural grounds for a residential practice and teaching period, during which they give dharma talks and public lectures, teach classes, contribute to priest and lay training, and advance Buddhist studies. ZCP also trains volunteers and creates meditation resources to meet the needs of incarcerated people who wish to practice Buddhism or mindfulness meditation.
